State Budget Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approves a 7.1 Million UAH increase in funding for payment and reimbursement of lawyers in 2016


komitetThe Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has decided to reduce consumption expenditures of program 3603020, “Ensuring the development and functioning of the legal aid system,” and a result, 7.1 million UAH in unallocated funds will shift to program 3603030, “Payment and reimbursement of lawyers to provide free secondary legal aid.” The increase will finance the payment and reimbursement of secondary legal aid lawyers in 2016.

On December 14, government order No. 955-r approved the change, paving the way for the Coordination Centre for Legal Aid to increase payment and reimbursement of lawyers while appropriately reducing administrative costs to free secondary legal aid (FSLA) centers. This proposal of the Coordination Centre for Legal Aid Provision was supported by the Ministry of Justice, as well as the Ministry of Finance. And later on December 19, 7.1 million UAH were redistributed for services and reimbursement for attorneys providing FSLA with the support of the Subcommittee on the.

The Ministry of Finance is expected to issue a relevant statement on the amendment to the State Budget for 2016. The increased payments will be paid to FSLA lawyers which receive approval for correctly submitting the necessary documentation of providing legal services.
